A Highly Anticipated Duel between Trump and Biden
The first 2024 election debate in the United States has ignited a surprising chain reaction in the country. Biden’s subpar performance evoked people’s anxiety and led many to call for his withdrawal. Not long after, Trump was shot by a 20-year-old at the Pennsylvania rally.
Many feel desperate because of having to choose between two bad options as the world leader for the next four years. As for me, this election is the most exciting one in my whole life. Let me tell you why I look forward to the rematch between Trump and Biden.
This post is organized as follows. In the first half, let me first mock the idiots who tried to stop Biden or Trump. In the second half, I will show you the historical significance of the rematch between Trump and Biden.

Is calling for Biden to withdraw the Ice Bucket Challenge of 2024?
Ten years ago, in 2014, an activity called Ice Bucket Challenge went viral on social media, which involves pouring a bucket of ice water over a person’s head to promote awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The participants, nominated by other participants, must comply or forfeit through donation. This challenge raised over $115M, and many celebrities including Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and many NBA players have participated.
This challenge has not much value other than harvesting people’s attention. Karl Marx once said that with a profit of 300%, there was not a crime at which capitalists would scruple, nor a risk they would not run, “even to the chance of being hanged” (Chapter 31, Footnote 15, Capital, Vol 1). To get hundreds of thumbs-up on social media, these celebrities definitely won’t hesitate to pour a bucket of ice water onto their body.
Similarly, calling for Biden to step aside has become a social trend or, more precisely, a fashion. The New York Times, always on the fashion front of the time, got the first blood. Then, some democrats hooked on the train, and Peter Welch became the first Senate Democrat to call on Biden to withdraw. Recently, filmmaker George Clooney joined the trend.
I have never heard George Clooney’s name before; if it were not for this election, I probably would never know his name. This outdated filmmaker has no longer any good thing to offer so decided to jump the shark to maintain his exposure. While he was bitching for attention, the real “bitch” Taylor Swift was busy making money and earthquake in Zurich and didn’t have time to mess with politics.
George Clooney is the reason why Biden was laughed at by Trump. Biden pitied Clooney and let him become a member of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities in 2023. Only one year later, this ungrateful and ungraceful traitor backstabbed Biden. Biden is lenient and probably too lenient: a person like Clooney can’t survive in Trump’s government or Xi Jinping’s for more than one week.
Seeing the American socialites vying for exposure and attention did bring me a good laugh.
An assassination against Trump; a hero was born?
At Trump’s Pennsylvania rally, he was shot by a 20-year-old. The bullet narrowly missed his head. While most media was shocked but exercised restraint, the FBI decided to call it a terrorist attack.
The FBI’s victim-playing comment did not fail to win an eye-rolling from me. Trump does not have enough value to be a target for terrorists, at least not before he becomes the president again. The FBI is trying to exaggerate the gunman’s stealth skill to brush off their incompetency in maintaining country security.
This 20-year-old tried to assassinate Trump because he wanted to be recognized by historians as a hero saving the American democracy from Trump’s tyranny. He wanted to be a legendary assassin, rivaling Jing Ke, who attempted the assassination of Qin Shi Huang 2000 years ago but failed. Japan has a medical term for this: Chūnibyō, which has a negative connotation in both Japan and China. I, however, view it with a positive lens and describe it as an inability to reconcile with the corrupted world.
We are living in a bizarre era where no one is doing the business he is traditionally supposed to do. A newspaper like The New York Times does not give insight into candidates’ policies but chooses to evict Biden (and later Trump). A filmmaker like George Clooney does not make films but chooses to mess with politics. A 20-year-old does not swim in the ocean of knowledge but chooses to assassinate a presidential candidate.
Instead of fulfilling his duty, everyone is trying to control and hijack this world. (Not saying whether it is right or wrong, I am simply making an observation.)
Red pill or blue pill
When democrats are plotting to replace Biden, are they aware that their move is equivalent to admitting defeat? If the replacement, in addition, loses to Trump in November’s election, they will be defeated twice. Even though the replacement succeeds in defeating Trump, it will not be the same victory as Biden vanquishing Trump. It will be democrats’ bait-and-switch gimmick’s victory but not Biden’s policies’ victory.
The same can be said for Trump. An assassination or The New York Times’s pressure may temporarily deter Trump but will not extinguish the underlying power pushing him toward the throne. A more charming, eloquent, deceiving, and probably younger version 3.0 of Trump will eventually return and sweep the country. The value of Trump is being unapologetically a jerk, and he speaks aloud the dirty, selfish thoughts that we all have but are too shameful to admit.
Biden’s and Trump’s beliefs represent two pure extremities. Biden is old and exhausted, so there is no reason to vote for Biden other than to vote for his people-first policies. Similarly, Trump is perverted and reckless, so there is no reason to vote for Trump other than to vote for his America-first belief. Red pill or blue pill. Americans are presented for the first time with two bloody options that are not sugarcoated rather than choosing between a sweet placebo and a salty placebo.
It is a pill hard to swallow but a pill Americans have to swallow, for the Earth does not have much time left for us. Americans have to choose Biden’s path or Trump’s path now rather than hesitate in front of the crossroads and waste another four years. If Americans vote for Trump’s path, we global talents and Western leaders will know not to rely on the US and thus make our moves independently. If Americans vote for Biden’s path, we will be more confident in the alliance with the US because allying with a country is allying with its people—a country cannot be great without its people first being great.
On the other hand, it will be a disaster if the two parties replace the two archetypes with some obscure middle-ground puppets we have never vetted. The puppet will not do anything revolutionary for fear of angering the big donors behind him and ruining his re-election in four years. He will cunningly make fake promises that will never get delivered as well as sugarcoated lies that will cloud our cognition, and the world will miss the time window to save the Earth while waiting for the never-coming Godot.
Therefore, it is Americans’ decision now. If Americans want to lead the world, then vote for Biden. If Americans feel a safer border is the right move for the time being, then vote for Trump. In 1973, facing the Triffin dilemma, Americans chose to abandon the Bretton Woods system, and it did not bring the end of the world. Americans just need to make their honest vote and then inform us. Whatever the result is, no one will blame the US.
Both Biden and Trump mean the change, and either way is still better than doing nothing. Picking the middle ground, clinging to the status quo, and pretending to be someone else, however, is not a responsible world leader’s move.
A clash between two super Saiyans
As was elaborated in the last section, the clash between Trump and Biden gives us a precious opportunity to learn the deepest wish and fear in Americans. Any other candidate, even though he or she wins the election, will not have an equal effect in exposing American’s thoughts.
Besides this obvious reason, there is a human factor making me look forward to the duel between Trump and Biden.
Biden challenged Trump in 2020 because he wanted to save the US from Trump’s clueless governance. Trump challenges Biden in 2024 because he firmly believes that Biden is guiding the US to the wrong path. They each view their path as the way to save this nation, so they see each other as rivals.
Some say that Trump does not want Biden to quit because he wants an easy fight. That would be an underestimate of Trump: Without Biden, Trump would feel lonely. Trump craves to defeat Biden in 2024 to revenge his loss in 2020 as much as Vegeta craves to defeat Son Goku and Kaiba craves to defeat Yugi.
Biden feels the same for Trump. When the democrats asked him to bow out, either by threatening or by coaxing, he refused “defiantly” like a super Saiyan. After Trump was shot, Biden said he was grateful Trump was safe. Biden equally wants to defeat Trump in a fair and square rematch. In the vein of this old body flows the blood of the warrior.
Trump and Biden are engaged in hot-blooded boxing. Their moves may not be as swift as Vegeta’s and Goku’s, and their combos may not be as elaborated as Kaiba’s and Yugi’s, but their rivalry is nonetheless exciting for those who know how to appreciate.
This is the romance between males. Those who don’t understand men’s romance are boring. No money and pussies mess with the duel between Trump and Biden.
Conclusion
Trump and Biden unapologetically represent two distinct directions the world can move toward. They both dare to challenge the status quo, which any potential replacing candidates will feel fearful to get their fingers on.
The 2024 US election will be historic. It is neither choosing between the good and the better nor picking the lesser of two evils. It is to vote for the right path and, in the meantime, to vote against the wrong path. Whichever path is chosen, the world will move toward a new direction.

- Arlecchino: Trump has won the ticket to the grand finale, but Biden has not yet. The lack of financial support is probably the biggest problem for Biden right now. If Biden wants to stay on the stage, he needs to seek new donors as well as new allies, even though it means that these allies are from former opposite factions.
